Here's where it all begins (Jan. 22, 2018)

Here's where it all starts, for real.
Tonight is the first class for the Game Lab, with its first student. I'll be talking more about him later.
What we've all found is that finding students for a new program is probably the hardest task. At least, it's the hardest to plan for, and make expectations about. There are no shortage of people fascinated by the idea of making video games, especially for a living, and there are lots of existing programs where it's possible to get a good education in the subject.
But, then what?
This week I'll be at UT-Austin's game development club, EGaDS, for their opening event. On Friday, HOFT Institute will be the site for the Global Game Jam in Austin, which runs all weekend. You can sign up below.
